n the age of digital technology and mobility, satellites are with us at all times, enabling mobile phones, television, Internet, weather forecasts and telemedicine, navigation systems and personal healthcare services. In the future, these applications will all play an even greater role in our private and professional lives. All members of society, whether government or local authorities, professionals from industry, agriculture or healthcare, NGOs, architects, urban planners and others, are now aware of the contribution and growing importance of satellite technology.
The objective of this year’s Toulouse Space Show is to enable developers of solutions and Space applications to discuss ideas with users and imagine with them the solutions and services of the future.
The 2010 Toulouse Space Show was attended by nearly a thousand participants from 32 countries, as well as 81 exhibitors. For this year’s event, the organisers have been contacted by many new countries wishing to be represented in 2012.
This 3rd edition of the Toulouse Space Show will focus on four symposia:
- Space Appli: the 4th International Conference on Space Applications, with demonstrations of services and user testimonials.
- Space&Law: 1st International Space & Law Forum, to address all the legal issues and solutions related to the use of Space data.
- KM: 4th International Conference on Knowledge Management for Space Missions.
- ANTEM: an international conference being held for the first time in Toulouse and bringing together specialists in antennas and more generally electromagnetic systems. The 15th edition of this symposium will be spotlighting new technologies.
Note that for all these conferences, we will organize a closing Awards session for young scientists.
In addition, an exhibition in tandem with a business convention, organised around three themes (City of the Future, Land Planning, Water Resources) will enable industrial developers of Space applications and solutions to meet with users by appointment. The goal is to make contacts, buy or sell know-how, and also to propose original and effective solutions to potential users.
